České Budějovice

Sample the famous Budvar beer on a tour of the Budvar brewery in České Budějovice. Ceské Budějovice is about 30 minutes away by car. Visit the spectacular Hluboká castle. Hluboká is about 7 kilometres past České Budějovice. There is a top class restaurant in Hluboká castle. It would be possible to combine a trip to Hluboká with a gourmet evening in the famous Štekl restaurant.

Enjoy a day trip to Zvíkov and Orlík. Two beautiful castles on the flooded part of the river Vltava. The distance is about 100 Kilometres (1.5 hrs). The best is to drive to Zvíkov and catch the river boat to Orlík and then back. This gives you two castles, lovely scenery and a river trip. Take a trip to Rozmberk and a tour of their beautiful castle. Rozmberk is a 30 minute drive from Český Krumlov. A day trip to Telč (another Unesco town half way towards Brno. The distance is about 100 kilometres ( about 1.5 hours drive). On the way back you can stop in Trebon and sample the local fish dishes and a selection of good Czech Wines.
